fish off the rocks; snooze in the sun; build sandcastles with the kids; explore
rock pools; watch the windsurfers; walk the dog or watch the birds. Or you can

A most beautiful coastal walk starts from the pub; you can turn right and walk to Craster past the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh castle or turn left and walk over the headland onto the beautiful Beadnell beach and on toward Seahouses, Bamburgh and if you are still feeling energetic the wonderful Budle Bay, with it's extraordinary array of bird life.
There is a good golf course at Embleton - just along the coast if walking from Newton or two miles by road.
Barter Books, a large antiquarian & second hand bookshop in a converted railway station, Alnwick. The shop has many extra features: open fires in the Winter, beloved by all. The Station Buffet with good plain food, coffee, tea and cookies!
